Tapping Into The Flow
Tracy & Teesha Moore
Join Visual Journal Artists, Teesha and Tracy Moore as they take you deep into the world of art journaling. Learn their secrets to creating pages that vibrate with energy, color and content. We will draw inspiration from beautiful Portugal and visually document our adventures onto the pages of our journals.
Teesha will delve into her unique brand of visual journaling, covering collage, paint, drawing, and incorporating text to create stunning pages that leap from your journal. With the small size of this group (10 students), and the length of this workshop, there will be lots of "one on one" time to go deeper into technique, theory, and practice than we have ever been able to go before. Teesha loves helping people find that flow so they create pages they truly resonate with while learning more about themselves, their lives and the world around them.
Tracy will come armed with an arsenal of Lomo Cameras. These will be available for all to try during this workshop. These cameras, (considered toy cameras by many) take unique and vibrant analogue photos. They are one of Tracy's favorite visual journaling tools. We will take these on our field trips and excursions to capture our many adventures together. This is a great opportunity to gain "hands on" experience with photo techniques like; light painting, double exposure, and cross-processing. We will incorporate our photos into our journals, as well as explore many photo altering techniques. He will also cover his unique drawing techniques and help you find a style that is authentically your own.
Teesha and Tracy are avid book binders as well. During this workshop we will also cover many aspects of creating our own journals. Tracy will teach his two favorite binding techniques, the "coptic stitch", as well as the "long stitch", and as time allows, we will construct small journals of our own to further enhance your creative life. You will be able to do it all (journal making, journaling & lomography), or you may decide to focus all your efforts on either fully immersing yourself into journaling or making an armful of journals to fill when you get home.
Tracy and Teesha delight in exploring old antique shops and flea markets to find stuff to incorporate both on the pages and in the actual structure of the journals. Portugal is sure to be a treasure trove. Together, we'll explore stuff we find in town and work with you to make it into something really unique and one-of-a-kind.
Tracy and Teesha's lives have been empowered by their journals. Nothing excites them more than helping others to find the truly freeing and life changing possibilities that manifest through the exploration and nurturing of one's creative flow. While each has their own aesthetic, they are even better as a team, providing a ying/yang experience for each student. This is a great workshop for every experience level, from truly beginners to advanced artists.
